Physio is my job. I help people who suffer with chronic musculoskeletal pain - it's what I've done for the last 16 years. I have worked as a physio in many countries - Australia, England and the USA. I am also a co-author of a book that is due out in November.
I don't tell you these things to brag. I tell you these things because what they mean to you is that I can help you with your chronic or recurrent pain, whether that is back pain, neck pain or pain in any other muscle or joint in your body.
But here's a bit about my physio career, as you need to feel assured that I really can help you get rid of your pain.
I've been working as a physio since 1993. I studied physio at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. When I first graduated I worked at Launceston General Hospital in Tasmania. I then travelled overseas and worked as a physio in London England. I was here that I developed my passion of helping people with chronic and recurrent back and neck pain.
In London, I completed my physio training in the McKenzie Method of Physio that has been around since the 1950's. I undertook the basic training McKenzie exam in 1999 and then decided to focus on this physio method as I was able to help peopl take control of their pain. It was an active approach empowering the passive, rather than a passive one in which the patient thought "the physio was going to get me better."
In 2001, I started my physio training to obtain advanced training in the McKenzie Method. This saw me head to the USA for 9 weeks where I worked with 2 of the top McKenzie instructors in the world. I successfully passed the McKenzie Method Diploma exam in 2003, becoming the 230th person in the world with this level of training. In Australia, there are less than 20 people with this advanced physio skill.
Since 2002, I have been based in the Inner West of Sydney. My physio clinic is called ATA...Physiotherapy that Empowers! I am a member of the Australian Physio Association and a member of the McKenzie Institute Australia.
My passion is helping people take control of their chronic and recurrent back and neck pain using the McKenzie Method of Physio. I would encourage you to have a look around this website. There are many testimonials of REAL patients that I have treated.
If you would like more information on McKenzie Physio, give me a CALL and I would be happy to discuss if the McKenzie Method would benefit you. My contact details are: 9564 6200 or 0418 446244. I look forward to meeting you in the near future and helping you to take control of your pain.
